Sorry I aint replied for a while Mark. Been so busy of late with other projects. I didn't really understand what you meant about how to get these modelines above. But I got the jest of the idea and used xvidtune and fetched the current modelines that x was using from there. And it printed out the ones that I had specified before. I know these modelines work aswell because If say I don't mention the one for 1680x1050 it doesn't do the res. What seems to be happening is that the radeon drivers seems to be using it's own modelines and sync values from somewhere else and ignoring what I'm telling it. And although I haven't specified anything out of the ordinary for the drivers I appear to be still having the problem.
