kdriver - Xfbdev freezing

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to create a Kdriver Xserver using a framebuffer device. It all compiles fine, however when I go to run startx the system shows a grey background with a mouse cursor and then freezes. I have no idea what's going on or why it is doing that. Trying something else, I decided to run Xfbdev on its own. The grey screen comes up and mouse cursor is drawn and the mouse + keyboard is still alive. When I go to run a app in this server it draws a white box and then freezes. It seems that as soon as I go to run an application with the Xserver, everything freezes. Although I have used prebuilt binaries and they do work, so its obviously something I'm doing wrong or I have a broken XFree86 version. Does anyone have a clue? Here are the details:

Kernel - 2.4.20
Distro - RedHat 9.0
XFree86 - 4.4.0
Video Card - Matrox Millennium 1
Processor - Intel Pentium 200 Mhz

config/cf/host.def :

#define KDriveXServer YES
#define TinyXServer YES
#define XvesaServer YES
#define ProjectRoot /usr/X11R6
#define BuildLBX YES
#define BuildDBE YES
#define KdriveServerExtraDefines -DPIXPRIV
#define BuildRandR YES
#define BuildXInputLib YES
#define Freetype2Dir $(TOP)/extras/freetype2
#define Freetype2LibDir $(TOP)/exports/lib
#define BuildXTrueType YES
#define BuildScreenSaverExt YES
#define BuildScreenSaverLibrary YES
#define SharedLibXss YES
#define ServerXdmcpDefines
#define XfbdevServer YES

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
