XFree86 Version 4.2.1.1Your best bet is to download the Nvidia driver for linux and follow their instructions in their documentation exactly. I am using the same card and it runs wonderfully.
Debian debian-30r1-i386-binary-1_NONUS
Geforce 4 MX 440 64mb
I have reconfigured my xfree86 many times, using vesa, nv and vga. But every
time I get the same error.. no screens found. I have the latest kernel
installed.
I have provided a link to a copy of my config file. I'm sure between that and the Nvidia docs you can get it going.
