[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi All,

I have installed RedHat 7.3 on a PC with the following display card:

Intel 82845/G GL

When I start the computer I can use the GUI mode but if I logout, my screen is dark. Nothing to do.
I press ctl+alt+F2 to get the command line. After that I cannot start GUI by pressing ctl+alt+F7 OR typing startx. The only option is to reboot the system.
I tried Xconfigurator and changed the VGA driver with no luck.
Only with VESA card I can use the X
I think my X is giving problem. I am thinking to install latest X. How can know the version of the currently installed X?
Please help
