Some Background: Box: Dell Optiplex GX260 Distro: RedHat 7.3 Kernel: 2.4.18-10 I've been trying for the past 2 months to get the latest CVS source to work for the i845G chipset. I seem to compile and install everything ok. But when I finally startx it doesn't want to go into graphics mode. Not even at 8 bit !! I've been using vesa mode at 8 bit color but it just isn't the same.
