You are using 3.3.6, you won't find any "vesa" (it's an X 4.x.x driver), no problem use SVGA i.e. the server to use is XF86_SVGA (in /usr/X11R6/bin) it should ( ??? I don't know Debian) suffice to make /etc/X11/X a symlink to that server (assuming Debian uses the same logik as RH) The advantage of SVGA is that it is accelerated, last time I looked (OK that was long ago) vesa was not Lionel --- Csanyi Pal <csanyipal@ptt.yu> wrote: > Hi > > On Sun, Sep 15, 2002 at 04:04:06PM -0500, babar haq wrote: > > > u can use a driver by the name of "vesa" generic which comes with XFree86 > > I can't find it. > My system is Debian GNU/Linux Potato 2.2r3 and the version of > xfree-common package is 3.3.6-11potato32. > > What should I do to get the driver "vesa" generic? > > Thanks for answers! > > (Sorry for my english!) > Paul > > > _______________________________________________ > > Newbie@XFree86.Org > *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: > http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
