Actually, this is quite easy as 24bpp is the largest legal value for the
DefaultBpp, and XFree's default is automagically set to 32bpp for the
framebuffer and pixmap.  If you wish to leave nothing to question include
the following line in the Screen section after 'Driver' and before the
Display sections:

DefaultFbBpp 32

XFree86 automatically probes and chooses the correct VESA timings for
your monitor at any given resolution.  If you want a customer refresh
rate, then you'll have to write your own modelines in the Monitor
section.
