If you have a GeForce 3 you should probably visit nvidia.com and download the latest nvidia driver, as those that ship with most distributions of X are only good for a few nvidia chips. You will need to know your kernel version, and download the two files "kernel" and "glx" that correspond to your kernel. If you have a custom kernel I think you need the driver source. I have the same problem with my GeForce 2 MX400. The nv driver nor the vga driver wont work. -----Original Message----- From: No Fear [SMTP:gsxr97@hotmail.com] Sent: Saturday, 24 August 2002 9:46 To: newbie@XFree86.Org Subject: Mandrake 8,2 and Gainward Geforce 3 Ti 200 problem Hi i've installed mandrake 8,2 and it installed my vga like geforce 3 generic and is using standrd vga driver i tryed to update the drivers and edit the xf86config and the only thing i did is now mandrake to start in graphical mode :( (boot only in fail safe) can you help please ?were can find a tutoral how to install corect me vga ? thanks _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
