Your /etc/X11/x should be a symlink to /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86
You should then use an XF86Config (resp. XF86Config-4) with the right format for X 4.x.x (it is
different from the format for X3.3.6...)
a way to check whether your XF86Config is X 4 is to look whether mouse and keyboard are described
in a section InputDevice instead of sections keyboard and pointer(X3.x.x format)...
