Hi, I've been trying to find information on a problem I'm having. I'm currently running Gnome2 on Debian Sid w/ the Xfree86 4.2.0 packages. I have a 64MB Radeon 7000. I'm having ..interesting.. issues when playing video using Xv. The problem is that the video appears to be overlaid on top of my screen. This results in my menus, other applications etc being able to go behind the video output - which is just weird and annoying. Also, if I minimize an application that is playing video, an artifact stays on the screen. This artifact remains no matter which workspace I flip to and the only way to remove it is to switch to the console (Ctrl + Alt + FX) and back. What's even worse is that I can't take a screenshot of this in action - its like the artifact 'isn't there'. I also can't take a screenshot of a movie playing... I know its related to Xv because if I try an alternate video output in Xine (XShm) the problem goes away. The only thing is that XShm seems slower and grainier (to me). I'd like to know if this is a config problem on my box (pretty severe one then!) or a known issue that will be addressed sometime. Thanks, Allen _______________________________________________ Newbie@XFree86.Org *** To unsubscribe , or change message options, see: http://XFree86.Org/mailman/listinfo/newbie
