Re: help with Radeon 7500 -- dual heads

First, AFAIK, you *MUST* be using XFree86 4.2.0 for
dualhead support on the Radeon 7500. Also, if you are
not using at least kernel 2.4.18, upgrade to that.
Make sure that agpgart is either built into the
kernel, or that the module is getting loaded before X
starts. (might have to hack /etc/rc.d/init.d/rc.local
for this). Make sure that the Radeon DRI module is
getting loaded too (or is built into the kernel).

I see that you are using Mandrake (or at least XFDrake
- this would probably run on Red Hat, too) - what
version? In the worst case, you'll have to build X and
Linux from source (not too time-consuming on a P4 or
AthXP/MP), best case Mandrake already has the right
versions. (X -version and uname -r to check).

If none of that works, try commenting out the dri
loading line - this will leave you with SW-rendered
OpenGL, but if you use Xinerama, DRI won't work
anyway. (and I've only tried non-xinerama multihead
with DRI with two separate cards before, not a single
card with two outputs - I'm not sure if this even
works).
