can't get 1280x1024 resolution to work

Hi,

I have a KDS-190p monitor and NVIDIA TnT2 M64 32MB AGP video card and
I am running XFree86 4.2.0 on RedHat Linux 7.3.

When I tried installing linux the only screen resolutions that were
clear were those for 1024x768 and below, but the monitor supports up
to 1600x1200.

I eventually tried editing the XF86Config-4 file and added two modes
for 1280x1024:

        # 1280x1024 @ 85 Hz, 91.15 kHz hsync
        Modeline "1280x1024" 157.5 1280 1344 1504 1728
                              1024 1025 1028 1072 +HSync +VSync
        # 1280x1024 @ 74 Hz, 78.85 kHz hsync
        Modeline "1280x1024" 135 1280 1312 1456 1712
                              1024 1027 1030 1064 +HSync +VSync

Both of these modes are listed in the manual as factory preset modes
and so I thought would be safe to try. The first mode caused a fuzzy
display, but the second seems to work better.

I would like to try another set of timings for the 1280x1024 mode but
there aren't any more listed in my manual and I am afraid I will
damage the monitor.

Has anoyone has this problem with the KDS VS0-190p monitor or does
anyone have any suggestions on safe values I can use to adjust the
timing of the monitor to get a clear display?

Thanks,
Bill
