Thanks! I'll look for it. .... I have to come clean here, seeing as your an HP guy (Nice to meet you, I'm a recovering HPUX admin). I'm really trying to get an HP Entria II xterminal booting from a RH 7.1 NFS server to come up with the black screen. Not really XFree86 ( which I'd have the liberty to grep the source code for ). It's for a Navy research vessel, and they are REALLY picky about having a dark bridge at night. Thanks again, you've already been really helpful. -Dan Garthwaite > -----Original Message----- > From: newbie-admin@XFree86.Org [mailto:newbie-admin@XFree86.Org]On > Behalf Of Keith Packard > Sent: Thursday, May 30, 2002 12:55 AM > To: newbie@XFree86.Org > Cc: Keith Packard > Subject: Re: [Newbie]How do I startup X with a black background > > > > Around 14 o'clock on May 28, "Dan Garthwaite" wrote: > > > Is there an Xresource setting or maybe a command line option to > specify the > > color of the X server, before it's even started? > > Not that I know of, but it would be easy to hack the insides of > the server > to make this work.
