I am still unable to get X to run after installing XFree86 Version 4.2 What's odd here is that I can get it to run under root just fine but not under any users. I get the following when I try to do so: Fatal Server Error: xf86OpenConsole: Server must be running with root permissions you should be using Xwrapper to start the server or xdm. We strongly advise against making the server SUID root! x connection to:0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown) Can anyone tell me how I should procede in order to get this fixed? I've looked through a ton of documentation and still cannot find a clear solution to this problem. Thanks in advance for your help, Michael ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael" <michael.lawver@pointoflightproducts.com> To: <newbie@XFree86.Org> Sent: Monday, May 27, 2002 11:53 AM Subject: Re: [Newbie]Need Help w/Install > I also am experiencing the same problem and am actually still unable to boot > into X.
