[Newbie]XFree86 v 3.3.6 on PowerBook 3400

I've just installed Debian 2.2r3 PPC from Linux Labs CDs onto a
PowerBook 3400c 180Mhz/48MB/1.3G but am unable to get XFree86 Version
3.3.6 working.

When I run startx I get 'No valid modes found' although XF86Config has
lines for 800 x 600 60 Hz which I think is the right vmode for it. Is
this the mode the error refers to ?

Does anyone know if these versions ever worked together? Judging by
frags of old posts I've seen I think they did. Does anyone have an old
XF86Config from a PowerBook with Chips & Technologies 65550 chipset
that I could try?

Thanks,
-John
