10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10-10 From: Marco Pistolesi <marco.pistolesi@xxxxxxxx> Dear friends and colleagues, We are happy to announce that the Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA) and the Italian Association of Volcanology (AIV), in collaboration with the Universities of Pisa and Turin, the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), Laboratoire Magmas & Volcans (LMV), the Laboratory of Experimental Geophysics of the University of Florence (LGS) and the Italian Civil Protection organize the new edition of the International School of Volcanology to be held at the Aeolian Islands (Southern Italy) on June 8-16, 2025. The school is endorsed by IAVCEI and has the following theme: â??Working on active volcanoes: learning the tools of modern volcanology - Field observations, data acquisition, reporting, and responseâ?? The target of the International School will be PhD Students and Early Career Scientists, especially those with observatory experience (for a maximum of 20 participants as a whole). The school is organized with short lectures and field applications. It is strongly field-based, where lectures and discussions on volcano dynamics, and the use of the instruments, will be made in a hands-on manner rather than in theory. Multiparametric experiments and outcrop observations will be carried out during the school and used to support learning through implementation. The base of the school will be at Lipari, with measurement trips at Vulcano and Stromboli islands. Full board will be borne by the school and no registration fee is required.
