Dear Colleagues

In the framework of the GEO-Inquire
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.geo-inquire.eu/__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!b6S-9phcqqEAuIi1gdRmlIivG_AYsaG_mR0DzsSQX7h6Ur5z9vpv01ldXXyLYgUeqwh3GvyeDUY3923AsP1YGB3P-A$>
EU
project, a call is open to participate in *Transnational Accesses **to
European research infrastructures.* The access to unique high-level
installations and experiments provided through Geo-INQUIRE is free of
charge for the selected users and includes financial travel and subsistence
support for the users to visit the installation, on top of all costs
necessary to perform the proposed research, such as equipment, support
staff at the installation, consumables, training.

Within this framework, *INGV Pisa* provides access to modeling resources
targeted at volcanic systems, specifically, *OpenFOAM*-based solvers and
libraries for volcanological applications:
- OpenPDAC
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://github.com/demichie/OpenPDAC-11__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!b6S-9phcqqEAuIi1gdRmlIivG_AYsaG_mR0DzsSQX7h6Ur5z9vpv01ldXXyLYgUeqwh3GvyeDUY3923AsP2fJvkG9A$>
for
compressible, turbulent volcanic gas-particle mixtures, to simulate
explosive volcanic eruptions over complex 3D topographies;
- ASHEE
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://gmd.copernicus.org/articles/9/697/2016/__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!b6S-9phcqqEAuIi1gdRmlIivG_AYsaG_mR0DzsSQX7h6Ur5z9vpv01ldXXyLYgUeqwh3GvyeDUY3923AsP27hoBeQw$>
to
simulate the non-equilibrium dynamics of polydisperse gas-particle mixtures
forming volcanic plumes;
- MagmaFOAM
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://gmd.copernicus.org/articles/15/3773/2022/__;!!IKRxdwAv5BmarQ!b6S-9phcqqEAuIi1gdRmlIivG_AYsaG_mR0DzsSQX7h6Ur5z9vpv01ldXXyLYgUeqwh3GvyeDUY3923AsP3wSf_-Aw$>,
a modular framework for the simulation of magmatic systems, incorporating
models for solving e.g. subsurface magma mingling dynamics, slug ascent and
bubble growth in magmas.
TAs can also be focused on development of new applications, or for testing
models on HPC infrastructures at INGV.

Anyone interested is strongly encouraged to contact us before applying. The
application forms can be found on the GEO-Inquire website:
