Dear colleagues

The journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A are currently
considering proposals for 2024 and 2025. These influential issues focus on
topics of current importance and general interest within the physical,
mathematical, and engineering sciences. There have been several notable
previous volcanology contributions in the past, and it would be excellent
to have more volcanology proposals under consideration.

These thematic issues are guest edited by leading researchers and comprise
new research, reviews and opinion pieces. Each issue aims to create an
original and authoritative synthesis, often bridging traditional
disciplines, which showcases current developments and provides a foundation
for future research, applications and policy decisions. Issues are either
based on the internationally acclaimed Royal Society Discussion Meetings or
are stand-alone topics commissioned by the journal or proposed by the guest
editors. All contributions are invited and the journal does not accept
unsolicited stand-alone papers. All articles are peer reviewed and edited
to the highest standards.

If you or your collaborators are interested in putting together a proposal,
please don't hesitate to get in touch to discuss your ideas. More
information on the proposal process can be found here:

We are happy to receive proposals from scientists at any stage in their
career, as long as they can demonstrate some standing in the field and be
able to recruit top quality authors. We particularly encourage guest editor
teams including members from underrepresented groups to apply.

Best wishes
