3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3-3 From: David Fee <dfee1@xxxxxxxxxx> The Wilson Alaska Technical Center (WATC) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to lead a machine learning (ML) focused project. The successful applicant will help develop and implement novel ML algorithms to detect, locate, and estimate the yield from explosive sources using infrasound data. ML is being increasingly used on infrasound data. Recent progress has been made by utilizing existing infrasound datasets and supplementing them with synthetic data from physics-based models. We envision this project will continue this synthesis and utilize ML algorithms along with techniques and experiences from seismology and other fields. Experience working with infrasound data is not required, and we encourage applicants that will bring new perspectives, ideas, and concepts to processing infrasound data.
