Dear colleagues,

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University is
seeking applications for an open rank faculty position in the field of
critical elements/critical minerals geoscience. Please help us spread the
word, encourage interested candidates in your network to apply, or consider
applying yourself.

*Open Rank Faculty Position in Critical Elements and Minerals Geoscience*

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Cornell University
invites applications from all areas of geoscience working on fundamental Earth
science questions related to the properties and processes of critical
element sources, migration, concentration, and economic viability using
field, analytical, experimental, and modeling approaches. Modern
technological society depends on the sustainable extraction of critical
elements hosted in geological materials and we face an unprecedented demand
for these materials for the renewable energy transition, battery
production, and global infrastructure development. We seek applicants in
research areas that include, but are not limited to, the critical mineral
record of deep fluids and hydrothermal circulation, economic geology and
mineral deposit formation, low-grade and non-traditional ore deposits, and
mechanisms for carbon storage with critical element recovery potential. The
position is open to all ranks (tenured/tenure-track) and will be housed in
the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences
