1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 From: Paul Jarvis <p.jarvis@xxxxxxxxxx> The Bulletin of Volcanology is hosting a special issue on the January 15th 2022 Hunga Tonga-Hunga Haâ??apai (HTHH) eruption, which unleashed devastating impacts on the Kingdom of Tonga, resulting in damage from ashfall and the associated tsunamis as well as, tragically, four deaths in Tonga and two in Peru. The eruption also exhibited a range of extreme phenomena rarely (or never) previously observed, including an eruption plume up to ~ 55 km high, audible soundwaves across the Pacific region, and meteotsunamis that appeared to â??jumpâ?? over landmasses. We welcome contributions on any topic concerning the eruption and tsunami, including but not limited to the following themes: 1. Eruption and fragmentation processes 2. Petrology and geochemistry 3. Ash: plume, cloud and fallout 4. Volcanogenic tsunamis 5. Geomorphological changes to HTHH 6.
