Call for Expressions of Interest for Postdoc and Tenure-track Researchers
at the Canary Islands (Spain)

The deadline to submit expressions of interest is 28 January 2022 !! Living
and conducting research based in the Canary Islands, Spain, is awesome.
This could be your opportunity to join us! The Instituto Volcanológico de
Canarias (INVOLCAN) and the Environmental Research Division of the Instituto
Tecnológico y de Energías Renovables (ITER) seek Post-Doctoral and
Tenure-track researchers to join their research program. We are looking for
researchers interested in the following topics:

   -

Volcano monitoring: to improve volcano monitoring programs using
geophysical, geochemical, remote sensing and petrological methods.
   -

Volcanic risk management: to strengthen scientific and technical
expertise in defining and quantifying volcanic hazard and risks, as well as
educational programs to reduce volcanic risk.
   - Groundwater resources in volcanic terrains: to advance knowledge of
oceanic volcanic island aquifer systems with the aim of improving water
   management plans.
   - Exploration of geothermal resources: to enhance the capabilities for
detection and evaluation of geothermal resources using geological,
geochemical, geophysical and remote sensing methods.
   - Geoheritage, geodiversity and geotourism resources: to promote
research into geotourism in volcanic territories to raise public awareness
of geoheritage and geodiversity and to promote its geoconservation.
   - Air quality and environmental pollution: to advance analytical
methods and evaluation parameters for the emission of atmospheric
pollutants from natural and anthropogenic sources, as well as general air
   quality.
   - Food traceability: to use applied isotope geochemistry to strengthen
scientific and technical expertise to protect producers and consumers from
fraud, and to contribute to the development of rigid controls on the
authenticity and geographical origin of products.
   - Data processing and modeling: to develop innovative data processing
procedures, including inverse methods and application of numerical modeling
   to better understand geoscientific phenomena.
   - Mineralogy of the atmosphere: using deep time and modern records of
atmospheric mineral dust to better understand the role of minerals,
especially as efficient nucleators of ice in mixed-phase cloud, on weather
   and climate.

We seek engaging researchers who will enjoy our support for their
application to the Juan de la Cierva Post-Doc and the prestigious Ramón y
