From: Val Finlayson <vfinlays@xxxxxxx>

Dear Colleagues,

Iâ??d like to share with you an opening for a Postdoctoral Associate at the
Rutgers University Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. The project
involves collection of high-precision siderophile isotope data from
terrestrial samples, and the successful candidate will be working with an
interdisciplinary team to integrate novel geochemical observations with
geodynamic models of the Earthâ??s interior.

and
position description follows.

Any questions should be directed to Dr. Katherine Bermingham (

DESCRIPTION
The Rutgers University Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (EPS)
invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to study the siderophile
element isotopic composition of terrestrial rock samples as part of a
National Science Foundation-funded project. The successful candidate will
undertake high precision isotopic analyses and consider constraints from
geodynamic modeling to provide an integrated approach to understanding the
thermochemical evolution of our planet. Data will be collected via thermal
ionization mass spectrometry and inductively coupled plasma mass
spectrometry. Professional development and mentoring programs will be
integrated into the research program. The Postdoctoral Associate will join
the research group of Dr. Katherine Bermingham at EPS and collaborate with
scientists at Rutgers University, the Smithsonian Institution, Scripps, and
the University of Maryland. This is a 2-year position with a start date as
soon as possible after October 1st, 2021.

REQUIRMENTS
Experience in isotope cosmochemistry and/or geochemistry.

Independent user experience in thermal ionization mass
spectrometry/inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.

Candidates are expected to have an excellent academic record and be fluent
in English.

Ability to communicate complex information clearly in written format.

Strong research, organizational, and project management skills.
