This year the STRATUS meeting has a special focus on extreme events which includes a tutorial in which we have a test pour of melted volcanic rock at the Geohazards Fieldstation at the University at Buffalo. So, if you are interested in seeing some molten rock flow over a couple of meters, and record this with some equipment of your choice, or just talk to colleagues about remote sensing/UAVs, this meeting may be of interest for you. The meeting will award best student presentations and best student posters. Also there is possibly some student travel support.
