2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 Notice of Intent: The U.S. Geological Survey's California Volcano Observatory (Mountain View, CA) and Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (Hilo, HI) will have two volcano seismologist positions open for recruitment in USAJOBS September 30 through October 11, 2019 under announcement number DEN-2019-0325 (https://www.usajobs.gov/). These are permanent research positions, one located in Mountain View (CA) and the other in Hilo (HI), appropriate for entering GS-1313-13 geophysicists with: Knowledge and experience in using seismic monitoring data to characterize the structure, constitution, and dynamics of active magmatic systems. Skill in applying real-time seismic monitoring data and other geophysical, geological, geochemical, and hydrologic indicators to assess volcanic unrest and forecast eruptions. Knowledge and experience in analyzing volcanic seismicity via a variety of numerical methods, including cross-correlation techniques, array processing, seismic interferometry, waveform inversion, receiver functions, infrasound modeling, machine learning, and/or moment tensor solutions.
