*Science Manager, UK CPOM and UK COMET*



The University of Leeds is hiring a joint science manager for the Centre
for Polar Observation and Modelling (CPOM) and the Centre for Observation
and Modelling of Earthquakes, Volcanoes, and Tectonics (COMET).



CPOM and COMET are world-leading research centres operating on a combined
budget of around £4 million per year. Both centres are funded by the
Natural Environment Research Council to provide UK national capability in
satellite observations and numerical modelling, and work closely with the
European Space Agency and a wide range of other national and international
organisations.



The managerâ??s role is to lead and develop our core science operations and
strategic partnerships, which are carried out by around 15 staff including
the Centre Directors, Science Leaders, Science Staff, with the help of a
support team.  We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and independent
person for this role, and a PhD or equivalent experience in Earth or
Environmental Science is essential.
