Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Applications are still open for the INTERNATIONAL VOLCANOLOGY FIELD COURSE,
FOURTH EDITION, which will take place in Manizales (Colombia) from Aug 24th
to 31st, 2019. This course is organised by the Stratigraphy and Volcanology
Research Group from the Universidad de Caldas.

By the time being, participants from Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina, Costa
Rica, Nicaragua and México have registered to attend the course; however,
we still have places for graduate students (500 USD) and professionals (630
USD).

The course payment covers all expenses during the six-days field trip and
lunch and snacks during the two-days theoretical session in Manizales.

During the field trip, many volcanoes are visited, including the iconic
Nevado del Ruiz and the place where the Armero town was located before the
1985 eruption. The course also offers the option of visiting the
Volcanological and Seismological Observatory in Manizales, and the
Geological, Paleontological and Archaeological museum of the University.

The course language will be Spanish with the following invited speakers:

John Jairo Sánchez (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Colombia)
Susana Osorio (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México)
Denis Avellán (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México)
José Luis Macías ( Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, México)
