Do you have a creative urge? Do you want to visibly contribute to strengthening our volcanological community? Here is your chance! The centennial celebration year of the IUGG is ahead of us, and will culminate in the IUGG 2019 General Assembly in the exciting city of Montréal, Canada in the summer of 2019 ( http://iugg2019montreal.com/index.html). IUGG is IAVCEI's mother organisation, and to renew the visibility of the association, the Executive Committee (EC) of IAVCEI is looking for *a new logo*. *Submission deadline? December 21st 2018* *Who can take part?* Anyone with a great idea! *Requirements? *A logo that represents the mission of the IAVCEI: connecting a broad range of scientific members globally working on (1) research in volcanology, (2) efforts to mitigate volcanic disasters, and (3) research into closely related disciplines (see https://www.iavceivolcano.org/about-iavcei/what-is-iavcei.html). *Format?* No design restrictions apply, other than that the logo should work both in colour and black-and-white and should contain "IAVCEI" as text. The winning logo will have to provide an adaptable graphics file (Illustrator, Inkscape,...). *How to submit?* Send both colour and black-and-white image files (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, PDF...) of your submission *to ecrnetiavcei@xxxxxxxxx <ecrnetiavcei@xxxxxxxxx>* *Competition procedure? *After the submission deadline, the ECR-Net committee will present a longlist to IAVCEI's EC. EC will distill a shortlist (6-8). The shortlisted logo's will then enter an open competition in February-March with voting via social media (Facebook, Twitter). The finalist will be anounced at the IUGG Montréal Assembly in July 2019. *Prize?* You choose: either a 10-year long IAVCEI membership, or free registration to the IUGG 2019 General Assembly. And eternal fame within the IAVCEI community, of course! A call has gone out as well via our Facebook pages and Twitter feeds (@IAVCEI_Official and @IAVCEI_ECRNet). You are free to post your design there (please do!) but submission via e-mail is the only legal way of entering competition. Let your creativity flow! We are looking forward to receiving your explosive designs in great numbers! Pressurized? Set? Draw!
