Dear Colleagues,

I would like to bring to your attention a new and recurring PhD Scholarship program specific to Earth Sciences in Queensland (Australia). The first offering of the scholarship is in 2018 (and then offered every 4 years after), and each scholarship award will be worth AUD150,000 total. The aim of the scholarship program is to advance the understanding of Queensland Earth Sciences by addressing a globally significant problem leading to impactful outcomes, and by supporting a project led by an outstanding PhD candidate. The Scholarship is  to commemorate the legacy of Professor WH Bryan MC, who made many fundamental, impactful and diverse contributions to the geology of Queensland, tertiary education, and societal well-being.

The scholarship award will be $50,000 per year over three years with $32,000 per year to be provided as stipend and $18,000 per year to be used as research support. The application deadline is April 30, 2018, and notification of the successful applicant will be in early June 2018. Applications will be assessed by an independent qualified panel. The scholarship is available to Australian and international students.

Full details on the scholarship, eligibility and application guidelines can be found at: http://www.whbryanscholarship.org.au/

With thanks,

Scott Bryan
