I'd like to draw your attention to an exciting new PhD opportunity at the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC), related to palaeoclimate, geochronology, volcanoes and early humans in Armenia.
Project Title: Reconstructing the Plio-Quaternary habitats and climate extremes of prehistoric humans in Aparan, Armenia
Supervisors: Prof. Darren Mark (SUERC), Prof. Mel Leng (BGS), Dr Derek Fabel (SUERC), Dr Katie Preece (SUERC)
Application deadline: 19 January 2018
Candidate requirements: The applicant should hold a 1st class or 2:1 degree and preferably a Masters in Geology or a related discipline. They should show outstanding academic pedigree and research potential, evidenced through the publication of articles, participation in academic conferences and other similar activities. They must be willing to spend considerable amounts of time in the field and in the lab.
