The USGS Volcano Science Center is hiring a Research Geophysicist with specialization in remote sensing to join the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) in Anchorage, AK. We welcome applicants with strong research backgrounds in remote sensing, volcanology, and/or atmospheric science. Specific expertise in one or more of the following fields is required: 1) application of remote sensing data and techniques in the study of physical volcanology and active eruptive processes, 2) satellite remote sensing analysis of the Earth’s surface and/or the atmosphere, 3) experience with advanced geospatial exploitation methodologies, algorithm development, automated change detection and/or time-series analysis.
