Request for space at Portland 2017 IAVCEI meeting
Colleagues,
I am organizing space requests for the IAVCEI meeting in Portland. If you have a committee, group, organization or IAVCEI commission that would like to have a professional meeting (or other event) during the week of the IAVCEI meeting (August 14-18) or the two days before the meeting (Saturday and Sunday August 12 and 13), please read the information below and respond me to directly.
Two major types of spaces are available:
1) Rooms at the Oregon Convention Center (OCC). Most of the available rooms will also house oral sessions, so meeting times will be restricted to those times when oral sessions are not going (e.g., during lunch and before and after the oral sessions). AV is available in these rooms.
2) The Lucky Lab is located at 1945 NW QUIMBY ST. PORTLAND, OR 97209 and is accessible from downtown by the streetcar. IAVCEI has access to a private room that seats approximately 100 people. This location features pizza, salads, deli sandwiches, and hot soups, along with a range of beverages. Food can be pre-ordered or ordered on site. This is an especially good choice for evening meetings or events. Lunch events might also work but time constraints might require taking Uber or a taxi to and from the OCC.
Additional space may be available at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower (conference hotel). Availability is limited, and the Hilton can only provide AV at a cost.
Please email me at bohrson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, and include IAVCEI space request in the subject line of the email. Include the following information:
1) Preferred venue: OCC or Lucky Lab
2) Three dates/times/durations that might work for your group. Please prioritize these.
3) Number of anticipated attendees.
4) AV or other infrastructure needs.
5) Any other information that I need to know to accommodate your group.
Requests must be made by June 15th but priority will be given to groups that request space by June 1st.
If you have any questions, please email me at the email address above.
Thanks,
Wendy Bohrson (bohrson@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx)
