The Department of Geology and Geophysics at Louisiana State University (LSU) seeks an outstanding individual with expertise in the broad area of structural geology for appointment at the assistant professor level. The specific research area is open to all subdisciplines of structural geology. We seek an individual who can develop a strong research group, contribute to interdisciplinary research and has demonstrated strong observational, empirical and analytical skills. The Department and University strives to maintain a rich and diverse faculty group.
Qualifications: a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences or a related field. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a high-level, externally funded research program, teach at the graduate and undergraduate level, possibly including field trips, mentor and support graduate students, publish in highly ranked journals, and provide leadership both on campus and beyond.
