Books for non-technical volcano lovers
*****************************************************************************************************
Some of you will recognize my name as an author of many peer-reviewed articles about volcanoes. I am now retired from the research mode of volcanology, but remain active in writing books for a readership of non-technical volcano lovers. I invite you to learn about these books. Even those of you still in the research mode may do some "recreational" reading. Perhaps the easiest way to get the flavor of these writings is to search for Books by Wendell Duffield at www.amazon.com. Here are some sample titles:
VOLCANOES OF NORTHERN ARIZONA: SLEEPING GIANTS OF THE GRAND CANYON REGION
CHASING LAVA: A GEOLOGIST'S ADVENTURES AT THE HAWAIIAN VOLCANO OBSERVATORY
WHAT'S SO HOT ABOUT VOLCANOES?
JIGGLES, ROLF, AND THE REMARKABLE FINALE TO FRANK STONE'S CAREER (This book builds from the well documented Pleistocene record of about twenty basalt lava flows that spilled into the Grand Canyon of Arizona to create dams across the Colorado River, and then "creates" another lava flow and dam that geologist Frank Stone predicts and monitors.)
