Dear colleagues,

The Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans (LMV, research laboratory in the fields of igneous and experimental petrology, geochemistry and volcanology; http://lmv.univ-bpclermont.fr) and the ClerVolc consortium (collaborative research programme on volcanic processes; http://clervolc.univ-bpclermont.fr) invite applications for five postdoctoral fellowships on independent research of the applicant’s choosing that will fit into the research themes of these two institutions. Details on research programs and laboratory facilities can be found on the websites, and applicants are encouraged to contact LMV staff members.

The research fellowships will be funded by the Auvergne Regional Council. Contracts will start preferentially on September 1st or October 1st, 2016. Fellowships are supported for 24 months and include a research allowance. The net annual salary is about €26,000 and includes a benefits package (health insurance plus retirement and unemployment benefits).

Candidates should have completed their PhD by the time of application. They are requested to submit their own original research proposal (limited to no more than 5 sides of A4), a CV (including a list of publications, description of thesis and any postdoctoral research), a letter of motivation, and the pdfs of up to five publications by email to Auvergnefellowship.opgc.fr. They should also ask three referees to send letters of recommendation to the same email address. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2016. Research projects will be selected based on scientific excellence and innovation. Applicants do not need to speak French, and applications can be in English.

Please contact the administrator of the ClerVolc project, Socheata Sean (S.Sean@xxxxxxx) and the director of Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans, Pierre Schiano (P.Schiano@xxxxxxx) for any further information.
