A fully funded Ph.D. position in modeling volcanic systems is available at the Department of Geophysics, Stanford University. Possible thesis topics include basaltic volcanism, understanding shallow plumbing systems, volcanic degassing, and lava flows. Highly motivated candidates with a background in geophysics, geochemistry, general physics, applied mathematics, engineering science, or numerical modeling experience are preferred.
