UNCERTAINTY IN GEOSCIENCE: A WORKSHOP ON HAZARD ANALYSIS
15-17 March 2016, Buffalo, New York  USA

This workshop will feature a combination of lectures by experts in probabilistic modeling of volcanic hazards and other natural hazards, and hands-on work/ tutorials with modeling tools including the use of many tools on the vhub platform. Time will be split between lectures and hands-on work, and there will be ample time for one-on-one and small group interaction. The workshop is aimed both at graduate students, postdocs, and experienced researchers who desire to learn more about probabilistic volcanic hazards tools for their own work and teaching.

* Tutorials on uncertainty in predictive simulations – applications to volcanic hazards. 
* Conference talks on uncertainty in geological and geophysical applications 
* Poster session on uncertainty in applications, communicating uncertainty using hazard maps 
* Financial support for early career scientists – apply by 1 December 2015.

REGISTRATION:  http://geohazards.buffalo.edu/conference/
