Dear all,
together with a small group, I visited the remote Batu Tara volcano (Indonesia) from 30 June - 4 July 2015 and observed strombolian eruptions of varying intensity at intervals ranging between 10 and 50 minutes.
During a 16 hours interval of elevated activity between the evening of 2 July and the morning of 3 July, this activity resulted in three pyroclastic flows traveling down the sciara and 50-200 m over the sea.
