Dear colleagues

please consider to attend the C6 post-congress field trip at the IUGG - IAVCEI 2015 conference between Thursday, July 2, 2015 - Sunday, July 5, 2015:

Miocene Submarine to Subaerial Volcaniclastic Deposits and Exhumed Volcanic Landforms Along the Danube Bend in North Hungary:

http://www.iugg2015prague.com/long-field-trips.htm#C6

The trip will lead to the Danube Bend and its broader vicinity where a great variety of volcanic debris-avalanche, debris-flow, and volcaniclastic mass-flow deposits (subaqueous to subaerial) form ring plain successions along multiple, medium-volume andesitic to dacitic volcanic centers of Miocene age. The trip will provide a great opportunity to experience the preservation potential of million-year-old volcanic landforms, various volcanic facies relationships, and the interplay between volcanism, young tectonic movements and related erosion, which the spectacular exhumed volcanic region offers. The trip will also visit the newly opened Visitor Center of Kemenes Volcano Park in West Hungary, and all nights will be spent in the fascinating downtown of Budapest providing enough time to enjoy the Hungarian capital.
