Postdoctoral Associate in Modeling of the Climate Response to Volcanic Eruptions.  The Department of Environmental Sciences of Rutgers University invites applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Associate.  This is a grant-funded, non-tenure-earning position carrying full benefits.  The successful candidate will join a research group investigating the impacts on climate on seasonal and decadal scales following volcanic eruptions as a function of size, location, and timing of the eruptions, and the current climate state, including phase of QBO, ENSO, and AMO.  The successful candidate will have primary responsibility, in collaboration with other researchers at Rutgers and NCAR, for conducting general circulation model simulations, and analyzing the output from previous simulations that included forcing from volcanic eruptions.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. and a demonstrated background in climate modeling.  Experience using CESM or WACCM, and with the NCAR computing environment, the analysis of computer simulations of climate change, aerosol interactions with climate, atmospheric and oceanic variability on seasonal to decadal scales, and the effects of volcanic eruptions on climate are highly desirable.  To apply please send a resume, a statement of research interests, and the names of three references (all combined into one pdf file) by email to:
