Session Description:
Despite increasing incidence of natural disasters throughout the world there exists large gaps in knowledge and education related to natural hazards among the general population.  The aim of this session is to highlight successful and innovative strategies or methodologies used to communicate natural hazards to students at all levels in the classroom, the lab and the field.  Presentations are invited from researchers and educators with experience engaging learners in topics related to natural processes, vulnerability and risk.  This session provides an opportunity to share best practices, models and inquiry-based lesson plans which increase awareness of natural hazards and foster disaster resilient communities around the globe.
