We would like to draw your attention to an induced seismicity session that will take place at the 2014 AGU Fall Meeting.
Please read the session description below and consider submitting your research contribution.

"Induced and Triggered Earthquakes: Theory, Observations, Impact"

Session ID#: 1647

Session Description:

Induced and triggered seismicity is a common phenomenon, associated with fluid injection in waste-water disposal operations,
hydro-fracturing, CO2 sequestration, and geothermal exploitation, as well as with hydrocarbon production, mining operations,
filling of reservoirs, and other fields such as volcano-seismology. Regions with pre-existing faults and increased fluid content
are particularly sensitive. We invite papers that explore the effects of injected fluids on temporal variations of physical parameters
in reservoirs and natural environments, including stress and pressure changes, spatial-temporal patterns of seismicity, source mechanisms for induced events and seismic interaction. Of particular interest are fluid injections for enhanced geothermal systems
and hydro-fracturing, mechanics of fluid triggering, fluid pathways and residence time, and fields such as volcano-seismology where induced and triggered seismicity is observed. We welcome submissions from a broad range of disciplines and aim to provide a
platform for the discussion of source physics, future monitoring, and hazard assessment of induced earthquakes.
