Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position in Geology


The Department of Geology at the University of Puerto Rico seeks to fill a tenure- track position in the earth sciences for August 2014. We seek candidates who can effectively teach basic level earth science courses as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in their field of specialty. Teaching responsibilities include advising and directing undergraduate research and MS theses. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research and obtain funding that will compliment the department’s strengths in geochemistry, geophysics, stratigraphy, natural hazards, and environmental studies. Bilingual candidates who can teach in both English and Spanish and candidates who have experience working in the Caribbean will have an advantage.
