Geologic Map of Oldonyo Lengai (Oldoinyo Lengai) Volcano and Surroundings, Arusha Region, United Republic of Tanzania:

Available at: http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2013/1306

This 50,000-scale geologic map encompasses Oldoinyo Lengai volcano and surrounding area north to Lake Natron, in northern Tanzania. The pdf file, suitable for printing, presents a map sheet 110 cm by 90 cm (44 in. by 35 in.) It depicts the volcano, extent of debris avalanche deposits, and adjacent volcanic features of the Natron-Engaruka volcanic field and older volcanic rocks. An accompanying explanatory pamphlet summarizes much of the published literature (as of 2010), in order to familiarize readers with the geologic setting, eruptive history, and volcano hazards. New data include radiometric ages and whole-rock geochemical analyses. Coauthors are from the Geological Survey of Tanzania, University of Dar es Salaam, and U.S. Geological Survey.
