Interdisciplinary conference on Vesuvius:
Vesuvius 2014: What Progress? Scientific, social, economic, educational
and cultural aimed at the sustainability of Vesuvius area population
15-16 December, 2014; Hotel dei Congressi, Castellammare di Stabia,
Napoli, Italy
2014 is the 70th anniversary of the last eruption of Vesuvius. The
population density on the slopes of Vesuvius has since 1944 quadrupled,
the people have lost the memory of past eruptions, and too little has been
accomplished to prepare the territory for the next eruption of the volcano.
The purpose of the interdisciplinary conference Vesuvius 2014 is to
address the challenges leading to the creation of sustainable habitats
around the volcano.
