The USGS Mendenhall Research Fellowship Program is currently accepting applications for Research Opportunities through September 20, 2013.

We would like to bring attention to a Research Opportunity using "heavy" metal stable isotopes to provide new insights into the genesis and environmental impact of ore deposits.  This Research Opportunity is open to a wide range of specialities and research interests, but one possibility is to investigate magmatic-hydrothermal ore deposits and their relationship to modern (active) volcanic systems using heavy stable isotopes.

The full description of this Research Opportunity, and information on the many other Research Opportunities for the Mendenhall Program, may be found at http://geology.usgs.gov/postdoc/.

Prospective candidates are strongly encouraged to contact one or more of the Research Advisors associated with the Research Opportunity prior to submitting an application.
