Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to submit your abstracts to
V045. Volatile Exsolution and Degassing from Magmas
at the next AGU Fall Meeting, in San Francisco, December 9-13.
Volatiles measured in erupted products and as gas
emitted from volcanoes provide insight into processes occurring within
magmatic systems. Increases in the emissions of gases like CO2 and He
correlate with the movement of deep magma, while volatile exsolution
during shallow magma decompression is intimately related to
crystallization and is a primary control on rheology. Understanding
these processes is critical for the evaluation of volcanic unrest and
eruption style. We invite contributions that focus on volatile
exsolution from magmas including studies on experimental petrology
(especially in mixed-volatile systems), melt inclusion geochemistry, and
the direct measurement of gases, in particular multidisciplinary
approaches.
Invited Speakers: Tobias Fischer, James Webster, and Olivier Reubi
The abstract submission deadline is August 6 23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT. It should be made through the Fall Meeting website, https://fallmeeting.agu.org/2013/.
