Dear colleagues,

we are pleased to announce a session on melts and fluids at AGU fall meeting that might be of interest for the volcanology community.

Best regards,

MR008. Fluids and Melts in the Earth's Interior: From Crust to Core-Mantle Boundaries
High pressure aqueous fluids and melts are the major vectors of mass and heat transfer in the Earth’s interior. We encourage contributions that provide insights into the structure and physical properties of dense aqueous fluids and melts from crustal to deep mantle conditions and their role in the geochemical and geodynamical evolution of the Earth’s interior. Contributions from experiments and theory may include, but are not limited to, the effect of volatile on the physical properties (e.g., density, viscosity, electrical and thermal conductivity) of melts, the behavior of trace element in deep fluids/melts, and fluid mediated redox processes in the Earth’s interior. Topics may include the origin of low-velocity-zones (LVZ) in the upper and lower mantle, mass recycling in subduction zones or core-mantle interactions
