We would like to invite you to submit an abstract to the AGU Fall Meeting session described below.

P013 Geophysics of Satellites and Small Bodies

This is a session of contributed and invited papers on the geophysics of satellites and small bodies. Research is progressing rapidly due to the stream of new spacecraft and Earth-based telescope data. Welcome are papers on processes that affect the interiors of individual bodies as well as the surface expressions they produce. Included are the affects and chronology of internal heating (e.g., radioactivity, tidal dissipation, and other), structural evolution (e.g., differentiation), tides, and other. These geophysical processes themselves are universal in their application and transcend the compartmentalization suggested by nomenclature such as “satellite,” “dwarf planet,” “asteroid,” “comet,” “KBO,” “TNO,” “parent body,” “planetesimal”, and now even some small exoplanets.

Confirmed invited speaker:  Lionel Wilson (Lancaster University)

Conveners:

Dennis Matson (Dennis.Matson@xxxxxxxxxxxx)

Tilman Spohn (Tilman.spohn@xxxxxx)

Ashley Davies (Ashley.Davies@xxxxxxxxxxxx)

Torrence V. Johnson (Torrence.V.Johnson@xxxxxxxxxxxx)

Abstracts are due August 6.  The meeting will take place in San Francisco 9-13 December, 2013.
