Dear Volcano Listerv,
please find here below a brief description and program of a course on "Fluid geochemistry of volcanic and geothermal systems", organized by Universidad nacional de Rio Negro and Asociacion Volcanologica Argentina and supported by the IAVCEI commission of Volcanic Lakes, in Caviahue (Argentina) next March (11-15).
We really appreciate an help to promote this initiative dedicated to all those are interested on gas chemistry and gas sampling techniques in volcanic and geothermal areas. Contact information are reported below.

Fluid geochemistry of volcanic and geothermal systems

An international  course organized by the UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE RIO NEGRO and the ASOCIACION GEOLOGICA ARGENTINA, and supported by the IAVCEI Commission on Volcanic Lakes.

Alberto Caselli: The 2012 eruption of Copahue Volcano

 

3°day, Wednesday 13 March 15-18

Mariano Agusto: Geochemical characteristics and evolution of fluids of Copahue volcano associated with volcanic activity 

4°day, Thursday 14 March 16-19

Johan Varekamp: Regional magmatic setting of the Copahue-Caviahue

 

4°-5°day, 14-15 March

Field work: Gas sampling from fumaroles of Copahue volcano

 

The course will be held in Caviahue from 11 to 15 March 2013.
